Where and whom to get a Medical Exam Done?

Sep 15, 2021

Every immigrant applying for permanent residency in Canada must undergo medical exams, and if you are a prospective permanent resident applicant, there are key pieces of information you need to know. Every applicant is required to undergo a medical exam, and accompanying spouses, partners, and dependent children will have to undergo these exams as well.

It’s important to know in which clinic and by which doctor to complete immigration medical exams. Not every physician is allowed to conduct Immigration Medical Exams. The physician conducting the physical examination must be a panel physician and approved by Immigration Refugee & Citizenship Canada (IRCC). These doctors are authorized and approved to conduct this particular exam, and they are the only ones who can issue a medical exam information sheet which is a proof of Immigration Medical Exams. In order to find a list of Panel Physicians, please refer to the following link: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/pp-md/pp-list.aspx,

which is the official list of all panel physicians approved by the IRCC. Once on that page, you will select a country, followed by the province and then a complete list of all Panel Physician clinics will appear in an alphabetical order. This list doesn’t present the clinic’s availability and their prices for performing medical exams. To find out about their first medical exam availability as well as their prices, please check each clinic’s website, email or call them. A common question is if clients should only go to clinics closest to their home or if they have the option to go to any panel physician clinic? Actually, clients are permitted to go to any approved panel physician clinic in Canada irrespective of the geographical area where they live. If you want to know how clients have rated each immigration clinic, you can search each clinic’s name and address on Google, and check out their Google Reviews. At Immigration Medical Centre in Oakville, we are proud to have one of the highest ratings on Google Reviews amongst panel physicians in Ontario based on our valued clients’ testimony and feedback. At the same time, our medical exam fee is below average fees that other immigration clinics charge. For a complete list of our prices, please refer to the Pricing Schedule webpage provided below:

https://immigrationmedicalcentre.ca/prices/

For instance, for clients between 15-59 years old, our Immigration Medical Exam fee is $180 for a physical exam, including a urine test and blood test. The only additional fee is x-ray which clients pay separately to the x-ray clinic, which is in the same building. Finally, at Immigration Medical Centre we do our best to submit medical reports in one week to the IRCC knowing that clients are interested to see their medical reports to be submitted to the IRCC as soon as possible.

There are different types of medical tests you will have to undergo for Canadian immigration. For a full list of medical exams, please refer to our other blogs, “What Medical Tests Are Required for Canada PR?” and “Which Tests Do You Have To Take for the Immigration Medical Exam?” which can be found here:

It’s also important to note that the panel physicians listed on the above website only conduct medical exams on behalf of the Immigration Refugee & Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The IRCC officers have the final authority over the approval of immigration, refugee, work permit and study permit applications. Upon completion of medical exams, panel physician clinic issues an Information Sheet which is a proof of a medical exam completion. This certificate is valid for one year from the date it was issued. If the immigration application is still pending for over a year since a medical exam certificate was issued, the applicants may be required to repeat their medical exams.

If you have any questions about any of the materials discussed in this blog or any of our other blogs, you are welcome to contact Immigration Medical Centre (www.immigrationmedicalcentre.ca) located in Oakville. With a high Google Review rating, our medical team is proud to provide quality service to our valued clients.
